Have I got tonsillitis again?

Right I've been having a really bad throat like I had the other week when I had tonsillitis, I have also noticed my tonsils are quite reddish and inflamed. I have tried gargling salt water and all that but it dint help one bit! Have I got it again and if I have is it safe to have it two times in a row or will I need a operation?
