Physics Problem Help Needed?

We did an experiment where we were colliding objects on an air track. The track was perfectly horizontal . I know the momentum was conserved for this experiment because human error and friction was completely negligible. We pushed the first object and collided it with the second object. and recorded the results ... my question is that what if the air track had been tilted would momentum be conserved then ? can some one explain this
