Hipsters in Philadelphia?

Coming from someone who goes to these sort of DJ nights, I'd say you should try to get in at Medusa Lounge (21st and Chestnut), the Barbary (951 Frankford Ave), Silk City (5th & Spring Garden), the Khyber (Old City) among others. I'm not a DJ though so I have no idea how hard it is to get in with the people running the clubs. I know the Barbary has a Fight Club night where DJs bring their stuff and do whatever, for starters. As for the neighborhoods...they're all over. But Northern Liberties, South Philly particularly.
